Coping Skills: #71. Have a Girls/Guys’ Night

Me with friends

With my friends

In the midst of the craziness of this past week, I took a night to spend with friends. Together, we watched the BBC 2008 version of Sense and Sensibility while drinking tea. Just being with some wonderful friends in a safe place was such a nice way to wind down after the business.

Being with the opposite gender can be fun. However, there are times when it is the most relaxing to be with just girls or guys. Bonding with them can happen in a different way.

There are many different types of activities that you can do on a Girls/Guys night. Watch a good movie, eat delicious food, play sports or board games, have a meal at a fancy restaurant – the list could continue on and on.

When is the last time when you hung out with a bunch of good girlfriends or guy friends? Perhaps it is time to get a group together again and enjoy laughing (or crying) with each other. No significant others, children, or people from the other gender. Just you and your buddies.

Thankfully, I have a few more of these nights coming up this week. They will surely be great times which help keep me calm in the midst of craziness.
