Help with Drinking Less Pop

Lately, diet pop has been my weakness. I have been struggling with having one, then two, then even more each day. This not only is bad for my health but also wastes money.

So, I was wondering if I could have some help from you. What is any advice that you have about drinking less pop/soda/cola? What do you do to stop an addiction before it starts?

Any advice would be very helpful! Thank you so much!

I have struggled with the same thing on and off for the past year. Have you ever tried LaCroix water? They are calorie free and artificial sweetener free, but they’re carbonated and come in many different flavors! I like drinking those because they are a great and healthier alternative to pop. I also try and drink water with most of my meals and I’ve found the more I do that, the less I crave pop.
    I hope that helps! πŸ™‚

  3. We used to always have diet pop in my house! I found that making myself drink a glass of ice water before I could have a pop helped me decide if I really wanted pop or if I was just thirsty/hot. Not sure if that helps while you’re out in the parks at Disney though. You could always try having a limit like 1 per day?

  4. Maybe when you want to drink pop you should do something distracting or fun like dance your favorite songs or read a good book. Hope this helps πŸ™‚

Pop is my weakness. I used to be addicted to Pepsi, but then I just decided the artificial coloring and corn syrup was horrible for me, so I quite cold turkey. Replacing it with Ice water, water with lemon, black coffee with a splash of milk (no sugar) helped. It was not easy… but replacing it with something else was helpful. You may find you have caffeine withdraws. I would suggest replacing every pop you drink with a tea, and then wean off the tea, or keep it up as Green tea is very good for your metabolism anyway. Lemon water does double duty by detoxing and adding a splash of flavor. Please try and avoid all artificial sweeteners, as they HAVE been linked to cancer and cause bad side effects such as headaches, and in some cases, can actually worsen symptoms of depressions, as well as make you more hungry. Good luck! I am at the point now where I only drink pop if we go out to eat, and sometimes I choose not to. I like to think of it as candy… good as a treat, but only occasionally. Hope that helps! πŸ™‚

Diet pop has ingredients in it, even caffeine-free, that your body may be craving. Is it possible you are using pop to keep you awake, alert, or calm? If so, perhaps you need more sleep. Hope this helps.
