New Job, Here I Come

I am thrilled to announce that I am back at Disney World again! After about a month and a half, my home away from home is coming back into my life.

Working there will be challenging, I know. However, I am thrilled for this opportunity.

Just today, I passed my training. Now, there is a just a bit more training to finish up and pass. Wish me luck and send me prayers please! I am excited to start this new journey and adventure.

Meeting All the Characters and What I Learned: Days Three and More

Recently, I wrote about why I like to meet characters and then had a post about the ones that I met. So here is the next post about all the characters that I have met since the last post.

The Fairy Godmother

The Fairy Godmother

46. Fairy Godmother: I always wanted to meet her and stumbled across her one day. Our interaction was very rushed, but I still loved her bright smile and sweet words. She taught me that sometimes we need help to follow our dreams but we all have beauty inside  us and the ability to go farther than we ever believed. Continue reading

My Blessed, Magical Christmas Eve

Me with my pooh

The pooh that I was given

Just knowing Christmas is tomorrow was hard for me. All day, I felt lost and sad that I could not be with my family. Not only would my sisters, brother, and parents be celebrating, my dad’s parents and his family would be getting together as they do each Christmas Eve.

Thus, I went to Epcot feeling very down. “God, please let me have a magical moment today,” I prayed. “Please grant me some special love. I really need it right now.”

Please Don’t Touch Me

It's Not You, It's My PTSD

Memories haunt, words remind, fears remain, but I will survive.

Lately, having people touch me has terrified me. At work is especially hard. People grab my arm or touch my shoulder, making me cringe and long to run.

PTSD is rearing its ugly head again. Should people grab a stranger? No. Am I being overly sensitive? A bit. Is it normal to react this way because of my anxiety? Certainly.

Meeting All the Characters and What I Learned: Day One and Two

Meeting Pocahontas

Meeting Pocahontas

Recently, I wrote about why I like to meet characters. One of my favorite things to do in the Walt Disney World Parks is to meet everyone.

So, I am on a mission to meet all the characters. I am going to record that here and what I learned from each one. Animal Kingdom is the place that I began on Thursday, and Magic Kingdom was on Friday. Here are my first characters:

1. Pocahontas: I had never met her before and was a bit nervous. She was so kind though. First, she asked about my adventures. I noticed that a fan was blowing on her and said that I was happy that she had it to stay cool. A bit surprised, she thanked me and stated that it was a bit cold at times though. Then she said goodbye to me as her people would and thanked me for being so sweet. Her lesson to me was that you can be strong, independent, and kind. It meant a lot to me that she thanked me for caring about her because it was such a lovely connection. Continue reading

Thanksgiving Away From Home

Talking to Mickey Mouse

I am so thankful for my wonderful boss, Mickey Mouse.

I never liked Thanksgiving very much. Most times, my social anxiety made me sick and caused me to hide at family functions.

Today, however, being away from family stinks. I cried when I saw families at Disney World and thought of my own. All I want is to be with them right now.

Still, there is so much to be thankful for today. Here are my blessings, the same number as my age:

Tobias, a Royal Majesty Maker, with my family

I am so sorry about the long wait! Life has been crazy with work.

More importantly though, I was busy for five days with my parents and little brother. They came to Disney World. It was the first time at the parks from my mother and Mario as well as the first time to all the parks besides Magic Kingdom for my Dad. Continue reading

A Night at the Ball

My picture with With Cinderella and Prince Charming

Normally they are never in photos together, but they made an exception.

Last night was one of the best of my life! My sisters came into town to see the parks for the first time and celebrate my birthday. On our final evening together, we went to 1900 Park Fare.

Here you meet Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Termaine, Anastasia, and Drizella. It was truly magical!
