10 Reminders that I am Not Worthless

Cinderella

She sure felt worthless at times, but Cinderella did not give up hope.

Being away from family, the company I want to work for, and the normalcy of Minnesota has been hard. Throw in getting a job that was not what I expected when I applied and waiting to hear back from other companies, and you will find me feeling pretty worthless.

On so many levels, I feel frustrated and broken. This stage of life is just so hard even without mental illness making it more difficult.

One Thousand Thanks: 1133 – 1143. Taking a Break

tea kettle

Having tea and relaxing sounds nice but is hard to do.

Right now, I am taking a break from work for several reasons including going home to get some rest. This is a great blessing, but I am very nervous about it. Resting is something hard for me to understand in recent years. Although I long to sit and rest, my body craves doing something physical while my mind yearns to be productive.

So, instead of fretting about my restlessness, I am going to say what I am thankful for regarding breaks from work. Cue another list of thankfulness although this is not Thursday.

1133. Time to think – It is hard having time to spend with your thoughts when you are so busy. I am looking forward to having more time to really know what I need and want.

My family

Happy Father’s Day! I miss my father so much on this special day. At least, we talked on the phone which was wonderful.

Anyway, here are some links. A few are Father’s Day themed while others deal with history, coping skills, and Disney of course. Enjoy!

Coping Skills: #84. Recovery Goals List

Salad at resort

I need to eat well while working so much. This I had at a resort.

We all get off track at times. Money is spent on a night out with friends instead of an electricity bill. We sleep in late instead of calling our mother. A new crush distracts us from our lifelong dreams.

Veering off track is normal for humans. However, it is still not a good habit to have. Instead, people often try to write down lists of goals in order to stay focused in life. Continue reading

One Thousand Thanks: 1099 – 1109. Disney Attractions Part One

Mexico ride

Here is the Mexican Ride in Epcot

There are numerous magical places to go to around Disney World such as attractions. Here are just of a few that I have noticed so far and would suggest. Some are crazy busy and popular while others are easier to get into and enjoy.

1098. Epcot World Showcase in Epcot -Honestly, this whole park is my favorite. Walking through each of the “countries” is magical especially in the evening with the pretty lighting.

Me with a sundae in an ice cream pail

My friend and I ate this at Blizzard Beach. It was a great sundae!

I am trying not to freak out right now. For the most part, my two days off – today and yesterday – were lovely. Having my hand kissed by Goofy, relaxing in the sun with my friend Daniela on Blizzard Beach, eating a pail of ice cream, faking my way through Star Wars weekend despite not seeing any of the films, meeting new friends from around the world in Epcot…it was all great.

However, I just had a mix-up in my scheduling, my computer mouse is still not working, and my phone has just stopped working too. All of this makes life so much more stressful. I do not know how to fix this all on my own.

Anyway, here is a brighter note: my top ten links! Let me know something that interested you.
